WASHINGTON — A man who crashed his vehicle down an embankment off Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill, Maryland, over the weekend, was missing for two days before he was discovered at the crash site Monday morning, Maryland State Police said.
State police spokesman Ron Snyder told WTOP the man was discovered around 8 a.m. Monday after crews responded to a report of a damaged guardrail near where he crashed.
The driver was injured and taken to Prince George’s Hospital, Snyder said. There are no details on his condition.
The crash is believed to have happened sometime on Saturday on Indian Head Highway near Interstate 495.
The driver was responsive when police arrived and told officers he had been down the embankment for two days. His family filed a missing persons report on Saturday, Snyder said.
