  1. I see I started your challenge earlier, I Big chopped last month after transitioning for two years. I still need a Deva cut because I think I still have some straight ends so what salon is Nya at? ?? I’m the DC, DMV area so I would love to go see her since you recommended her.

  2. When I first started my hair journey 4 years ago. I wanted to do a big chop, but my hubby said no, so I didn't cut it but after a year of growing It out I got that transitioning hair where u can see the new growth and the old damaged hair. I watched a ton of videos to fix it and it took so much time trying to blend the two, eventually I got tired of all the time I wasting on my hair and had my husband cut it after I cut it I was shocked because it was the hair texture that I had always wanted. I wish I would have just cut it off because that was a year of struggling that could have easily been avoided, and my hair probably would have been longer.

  3. You saved my curls with that thermal cap and deep condtiotioning has never looked better! Ive been no heat since 2016 which is when I began my transition (yes, I chopped off all the dead first). The only issue I have now with my hair is that it deflates so, so easily! I have fine-medium hair and hear this is common but, do you have any tips or know any curlygirl youtubers who have the same issues and can help me make the best of my hair days bc half the time I just end up throwing these beauties up in a bun by day 3. I love your videos and can't wait to hear back!

  6. I loveeeee your hair color! ?❤️? I needed to big chop 2 years ago but I’ve been fully natural for a year & I did your deep condition challenge so my hair is healthy. It’s just growing out from when the transitioning hair broke off.

  8. I honestly have no idea what I’m doing
I’ve only had a perm twice
But I did straighten my hair quite often
    Even during everyday one week
But that was 3 years ago
My hair is all even in thickness
So it’s all curly (or at least I would say wavy) but I’m not sure what to do regarding cutting and trimming
My mom is half Asian half black so I’m around 75 black
25 Asian (not sure if it affects my curl pattern) but my mom has nice curls
Even when her hair is damaged but mines is nothing like hers
It’s frizzy and has waves and a very small number of ringlets
I havent flat ironed my hair since last year around May but I am constantly trimming
It’s not heat damaged wavy but it’s not curly
Even my mom has tighter curls then me
Which I thought my curls should be tighter then hers considering my genetics
    What should I do?
    Plz help me?

  9. What if you have frizzy thin spit roots? Do you big crop the hole thing? I got the really bad frizzy roots from lack of moisture and slicking my hair back in a ponytail. My ends of my hair is really healthy.

  17. Everything you said = ?
I transitioned for about 7 months in 2009. Too expensive and too worrisome! I was a ball of nerves because my long, straight hair was my security blanket. In 2009, teeny weeny fros were not trendy. Natural hair was not quite trendy yet. But it was the best decision I've ever made for my hair, and I have never regretted it! In fact, I have big chopped again (and little chopped) since then! Thanks for posting! I love that you're invested in all the Curlfriends living our best curly lives!

  19. Question about deep conditioning…” is it better to deep condition with or without heat?” And if a deep conditioner states to ‘use with heat’ will is still be as affective without heat?

  24. I personally never big chopped. My hair is 3b from grades 6-12 I would go to the salon every six months not for relaxer, but keratin and brazilian straighteners but I don't them done at high posh white salons who didn't know anything about curly hair and i would flat iron it to death. Those straighteners my hair was wavy and had a small curl at the end. After my freshman year of college i stopped relaxing and would just throw it up into a bun cause of the frizz. Mind you back in 2012 there wasn't much for curly hair. I only would cut my hair to below my chin cause in Texas summer is hot. Then teh following summers I did it again cutting inches at a time. My hair grew. I had curls but no definition. Once i found out how bad sulfates are I used Garnier Curl Sulfate Free with the conditioner. Until I learned that shampoos have silicone. I used a charcoal shampoo to get out the silicone and started using shea moisture. In 2017 I started following sulfate free and silicone free and within three months I saw a huge difference.

  27. Hi Bianca!! I have curls too, but I’m pretty sure that they are damaged. I think this is because I am a competitive swimmer and I swim 2 a day almost every day. Can you make a video about curls x chlorine?? Thanks love you ??

  29. This video is a good follow up to the last one. I like these challenges. The no heat challenge was so easy for me because I have never used heat and still don’t. The deep conditioning challenge really helped. I had never deep conditioned because my hair isn’t dry and perfectly healthy so I didn’t think I needed it. My hair is much curlier now. I had short hair at the beginning of 2018 and now it is shoulder length. I won’t be doing this challenge but am looking forward to next year’s challenge.?

  30. I had no type of patient to transition I gave it a month and I gave it up. I cut it all off , goodbye heat damage hair. It felt like a good relief afterwards!

  31. I love you Bianca. You seriously changed my life!

I committed to your #noheatchallenge in the summer of 2017, which is when I found your channel. My straightner went in the TRASH! You stressed the importance of deep conditioning before you even released the #deepconditioningchallenge, so I committed to that one from the beginning of my journey, too!

I started chopping damage off bit by bit, then got a devacut, and then another. I now have virgin hair and my curls and waves are thriving.

I literally thought I had 2b hair in the beginning. It's now mostly 3a.. and I owe it all to you!

  32. YES! After 16 years of relaxing my hair, I started my transition. I transitioned for about 7 months and couldn’t handle it anymore so… on December 21, 2018 I got my big chop ?. I’m so glad I did it! ?

  33. Can you do a video on hair protein because I've been deep conditioning for almost a year now and I have seen some changes but it stopped out of no where and it won't curl back.

  34. I've done 2 big chops. Never looked back and my hair grows sooo fast. It's so worth it. Don't get me wrong, each time it took getting used to the short hair but whatever lol

  35. I was thinking of chopping off my hair but after this video, I don’t think i need to. I never relaxed my hair and I rarely use heat. (i’ll stop doing it altogether) I still have my curls and my hair is just frizzy with split ends so I’ll just cut that.

  36. I cut an inch or two when it grows, but I have 3a 3b shoulder length curls so I really can't tell what is my separation point.

  37. By any chance, could you make a video about parents not accepting their child’s curly hair? My mom makes me feel really bad about my 3c curls. She tells me I look too ethnic and I will never get a job with my natural hair out. I love my curls but I often feel so insecure about them when I’m around her. She even threatened to not associate herself with me in public because of my natural hair. I’m currently saving to get my own place so I could walk around my own home without her telling me how terrible my curls look.
Would love a video or a response to this. Xoxo ?
