Police on scene after 2 shot outside District Heights home

Prince George’s County police are on the scene of what they’re calling “a developing situation,” after a double shooting Monday afternoon in District Heights, Maryland.

Police are still looking for the suspect after the suspect shot two victims outside a home in the 5200 block of Daventry Terrace around 1:40 p.m.

Police believe the suspect and victims knew each other.

Residents of the Royal Plaza Townhomes have been asked to stay indoors during the search. Nearby Suitland High School and Drew Freeman Middle School are locked down as a precaution as well. A Prince George’s County Public Schools spokesperson told WTOP the lockdown began around 2 p.m.
